Doing something to get Darkplace noticed

I reckon we've gotta do something to raise awareness about Darkplace. Something on tvshowsondvd or pledgebank or try and get it nominated for a BAFTA, Golden Globe or National Television Award. Or even do something like Aaron Barschak did. The publicity worked for him, and he's considerably less funny.

Its a shame no big names have supported it. Someone famous singing its praises on air would be ideal. And yet the whole cast have been invloved with some big comedy names at some point or other?

Sites like this have must help in some way, because then people know there is a cult following. At least we have quality sites like this keeping the dream alive!!!

Show it to everyone you know!! your neighbour, invite the milkman in, the dog over the road, your cousins, aunties, uncles, grand parents, their friends, take it to the pub and force the landlord to put it in on his widescreen and lock the door!!!!! SHOW THE WORLD HOW FUNNY IT IS!!!!!

Id love to be out their busting my balls, helping the show gain popularity, but im old, rusted, busted with nothing but a moany old woman for company....

If a dvd arrived it would be much easier to spread the word. Show your friends an episode, get them hooked and get them to buy it. Perfect.

Do you think we could get DVDs sent to (for the purposes of reviewing) the Sun, the Mirror, the Star, the Mail, the Express, the Times, the Telegraph, the Guardian and the Independent? And what magazines could we press to review it? And what about commercial radio groups in the UK like Virgin, Capital FM, XFM and eMap Big City Network of Stations ?

I'm sure they'll review it anyway, if I remember at the time Nuts (or Zoo) were very positive about Darkplace in their TV review, so they may interested in the DVD already.

If we ensure that there is virtual saturation coverage and create a buzz about the DVD release then we might get a movie or a second series. Otherwise, I don't think there will be much promotion for the DVD.

I wonder how many fans would hate it, if a second series did get commisioned and it became very popular?... i can hear it now,
"i was into it before it was popular!" i would be happy if it did get a 2nd series, but i would hate it if all my mates that hadnt seen it (eve though i tried to make them watch it), got into the 2nd series and tried making out they always loved it!
bandwagon and jumping springs to mind!

I think there are some people who'll never enjoy Darkplace and there are some people who would enjoy it but have never heard of it. I say we try and get magazines to review it too. Lad's magazines usually review DVDs occassionally e.g. Loaded, Nuts, Zoo, FHM, GQ. Maybe gossip magazines such as Heat review DVDs?
