The mighty boosh are on tour now, so book tickets and go and see them. I'm not sure but I've been told its the full team, so I'm guessing it will clude Richard Ayoade and maybe Matt Holness, but don't hold me to that. I'll be at the Newcastle show - and if they're there then I'll see if I can get some words from them about the future of darkplace - stay holy.

At last im home!!!!!

For ages now iv been singing the praises of this amazing show, and now i know im not alone! This has to be the most significant comedy iv ever seen, and iv seen ¨whos the boss¨ and 4 others....

Anyway what i dont understand is how is seemed to go unwatched by so many? And yet if i show anyone my poor video copy they love it with a passion!

Surely a DVD at this stage is unlikey? And whats this about a film?!?!

Sorry if this is posted in an innapropriate place, im a newbie!!!!

Re: Darkplace News

It was mostly down to bad advertising - what little they had didn't explain what it was about or that it was really a comedy. I only came upon it by chance, and it was awesome.

It is really weird when I asked people about it. Half of them said it was brilliant, the other half didn't know what I was on about.

If it was shown again at a good time it would have a vastly improved audience, and its needed as tv is more redundant now we're in christmas replay hell.

IT crowd starts this week, watch it ]here.

DVD date still not released but apparently still on its way.

Also check why Armando Iannucci thinks Darkplace wasn't as popular as it should have been ]here.

Very intresting, what armando says, we've all said on here before that it was ch4 fault, most comedy they've done in the last 1o years has been ident kit, apart from the odd 1 or 2, chris morris's brass eye, darkplace and pheonix nights.
i cant agree with him on the subject aabout it been scheduled wrong, 10 0 clock was about right, u couldnt put that on as a family show like the simpsons because all the adult humour, and language would be cut to ribbons!

Yeh I don't see how it can be schedualed to show around the same time as the Simpsons with some of the stuff that takes place.

And if Armando thinks Darkplace was ‘one of the funniest shows for a long while’ and he heads his own BBC comedy unit, put 2 and 2 together? Darkplace on the BBC? Or does Channel 4 own the rights?

so i've just signed up to this thing. glad to see i'm not the only one who recognises darkplace for the quality show that it was. the supposed comedy that get on tv these days is 'a real horror show'. anyway, i've just read on the official site that a movie is going to be made. anyone know if this is still the case???
